    Bro المَكْتَبَةُ الشامِلَةُ and المَكْتَبَةُ الشَامِلَةُ – إِصْدَارٌ خَاصٌّ
both are unable to install….Pls guide for the same
    Jazakallah khair !!!

  3. Wa ‘alaykassalam wa rahmatullah, brother!

Could you specify the exact point at which installation cannot proceed? Have you been able to download the files? If yes, can you extract them properly? If yes, does the installer run?

    Please specify the exact error.

    Barakallah feek.

  4. Problem is with extraction, it gives error by the end of extraction in both of them.

  5. It must then be either a problem with one of the file parts. If the error specifies the file part then you should re-download that part. Also make sure that you are using IZArc for extraction.

If still doesn’t get fixed, you may have to re-download all the parts.

    Thanks
    Fahd

  9. Thanks.
But I can’t seem to install it. Can you tell me how to install it from this link? Thanks.
I am running windows 7 64bit, does this run on it

    Kind Regards
    Fahd

  10. Simply download the file from the link. Then double-click it to install it to your directory of choice.

If you can’t still run the file, you may right-click and choose “Run as Administrator”. I don’t have experience myself with running this on a Windows 7 64bit so I can’t really comment on this one specifically.

  11. Brother! I want to do two main tasks. First to learn Arabic language expertly (as i am Urdu speaking). And secondly to work on Science on Hadith (means to research on ahadiths with the help of جراح و التعدىل etc). Plz suggest me softwares, libraries and books collections for this purpose.
جزا كم اللہ خىراً فى الدارىن

  12. Well, as of yet I don’t know of the best way for learning Arabic from scratch. Maybe you can start with Arabic institutes that are made for this purpose. But once you get a basic understanding of the language, it may get easier to move on and memorize vocabulary, explore more basic Arabic Islamic materials, and so on.

If you want to become a Hadeeth scholar, first think about why you want to do that? If you examine your intention and see that it is a pure intention for Allah (‘azza wa jall), then try to find a scholar to learn from. If you don’t have a pure intention, first try to correct your intention.

  13. There is a company in Rawalpindi that teaches Quraan online, called Quranandquraan. They teach using Skype and are multilingual. Our friend that lives with us is one of the managers. You can choose to learn in Urdu or English, subjects including understandin Quranic Arabic, Tajweed, etc

    http://www.facebook.com/pages/Quran-And-Quran/100759136704542

This is their link on Facebook, sorry you’ll have to copy it and paste it in browser, I can’t seem to insert a hyperlink.

  14. It seems to be a good opportunity for those who cannot get live tutors in their place of living. If you are sure they teach with good quality, I recommend posting about it on social networking sites or Islamic bulletin boards and forums where people will benefit from it more.

Thanks for informing me about it.

  15. Thanks for your reply. When I lived in the US, I started teaching myself Arabic, with the intention of understanding what I was reading In Holy Qur’aan. There were two things that were very great aids; The Hans-Wehr Arabic-English Dictionary, which is organized according to the three letter roots of the Arabic words, which also includes a very comprehensive explanation of how words are derived from one root. By looking up words by deriving the root, one can achieve a very good understanding. The second learning aid was an Arabic course from the University of Michigan, which came complete with a set of cassettes, to teach proper pronunciation. The lessons were very good, and although aimed towards conversational Arabic, this course, especially the understanding of grammar, went very far in helping me understand Qur’aanic Arabic. I started with the beginning of Surah Baqra, and looked up every word which I didn’t understand, Unfortunately, my study was cut short, but at least I can understand about 1/3 of everything I read.
I don’t know if that course is still available, that was over 20 years ago, but the dictionary is definitely, on Amazon, but I haven’t been able to find it in any shops in Pindi or Islamabad.
Here’s a link to someone who had a similar pleasant experience:
    http://talibiddeenjr.wordpress.com/2008/09/19/tips-for-using-hans-wehr-arabic-english-dictionary/

  16. Thank you for sharing your experience. I read the article in the link that you posted. Now I think the Hans-Wehr would be good to use if I need to go a little far for a certain word or issue.

  17. Wa ‘alaykumassalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, brother.

I appreciate your informing me about this. I checked the website and it seems to be promising. The official Shamela.ws website have also launched an online service for navigating the books. Take a look:
    http://shamela.ws/browse.php

  18. Barakallahu fikum. I really love this shamila because it’s very important to the muslims..

  19. @ nurhussien
    Wa ‘alaykumassalam wa rahmatullah brother.

You can update your Shamilah from within the program itself by going to the menu item “ترقية البرنامج” then choosing the sub-item “ترقية البرنامج والكتب الآن”. From there you can update the program and download books.

  20. Assalamu Alykum
I am experiencing a problem with reading the Shamela. I extracted the application using WinRAR to a folder I have specified and experience the following issues:
    1. There is no file called Setup.exe only Shamela.exe (to start the program)
    2. When the program opens, no Arabic letters are displyed but rather some sort of unreadable gibberish.

I’m using Windows 7 and not sure if this also adds to the problem.

    Please help.
    Shukran

  21. Wa ‘alaykumassalam wa rahmatullah, brother.

    1. There is no problem here. They have obviously removed a formal ‘installation’ for the Shamilah in this last version thus when you extract the file you can immediately use it without installing it.

    2. This has to do with the language settings of your Windows. You can go to the Control Panel and open the Regional and Language Options then enable support for Unicode programs and Eastern languages. After a restart this may fix the problem.

  22. Shukran my brother, my problems have been resolved. May reward you abundantly, guide you and protect you.

    Wassalaam.

  23. Assalam alaikum .my comment is very good design and good arrangement
